Prepare images for a better AI upscale
Practical steps for choosing source images, JPG, PNG or WebP, selecting a crop and checking the final AI-upscaled download.

Use the best source you have
Start with the original photo or exported artwork whenever possible. Repeated downloads from messaging apps, screenshots of screenshots and repeated JPEG saves can introduce block artifacts and erase useful texture. Upscaling can improve presentation, but it cannot guarantee that discarded information will be recovered. A clean smaller file can sometimes produce a more useful result than a larger, heavily compressed copy.
Choose a supported format
Images Upscaler accepts JPG, PNG and WebP uploads up to 25 MB, with a longest input side of up to 6000 pixels. JPG is common for photos. PNG is useful for graphics and transparency because it supports lossless storage. WebP can provide small files and transparency. The downloadable format follows the site’s current output settings; choosing a lossless source does not remove compression damage already present in that source.
Understand the processing-size limit
Uploads above 2500 pixels on the longest side are currently resized to that base before AI enhancement. For example, a 4000 × 3000 image becomes 2500 × 1875 before the chosen factor is applied. If the important part occupies only a small region, a carefully chosen crop can concentrate the source detail on that subject. Keep an untouched original and do not stretch the image to change its proportions.
Choose a scale and inspect difficult details
Try Lite for faster everyday enhancement or Plus for more detailed restoration. With Plus, try 2× for a modest enlargement and 4× for the native larger restoration. Higher factors create larger dimensions from that 4× result. Inspect lettering, eyes, skin texture, product labels and repeating patterns after processing. Artificial sharpening and estimated textures can look attractive at one size and unnatural at another. The right choice depends on the particular image and how it will be viewed.
Download and keep useful versions
Check the downloaded image rather than the dashboard’s original thumbnail. Keep the version that works for the intended use and preserve the source for future editing. Paid users can process multiple images together and download completed outputs as a ZIP. Download promptly: the automatic image-deletion lifecycle is 48 hours. If a job fails, review its status and credit return before starting another attempt, and contact support with the batch ID if you need help.
